Your diet may be the cause of your inflammation
If you struggle with inflammation, you’re probably overlooking this one thing: your diet.
What you put into your body is so painfully important when it comes to inflammation. Put the wrong thing in, you get high levels of inflammation.
What’s annoying about this is that sometimes it doesn’t immediately cause an inflammation spike, it could be days later. That’s where an elimination diet comes in.
An elimination diet is essentially when you cut your diet back to the basics: low inflammatory foods. Basically low inflammation whole foods. Meat and fruit are the easiest to digest for most people.
You do this for 2-4 weeks, then add back in the possibly inflammatory foods 1 at a time and see how your body reacts. This process is essentially like going from a chaotic, loud room to a room that is totally silent. Even the smallest of noises is noticeable in a silent room.
Foods that may have not cause noticeable issues for you before may surprise you after cutting them out for a bit. Common culprits are dairy, egg whites, grains, nuts and seeds, chocolate - sorry if this is you - and believe it or not: vegetables.
If the food gives you a slight inflammation response after cutting it out for a couple of weeks, it means you should probably only eat it sparingly. If it gives you a higher inflammation response, you should probably cut it out for good.
Common signs of inflammation from food are joint pain, headaches or migraines, digestive distress, acid reflux or heartburn, aches and or pain.
