The pursuit of self growth starts with improving your fitness
If you want to be a better person, a better husband or wife, a better friend, or a better parent: prioritize your fitness. It seems unrelated, why would improving my fitness make me a better person? Because fitness is vessel for self growth. It gives you back the control to take back your life.
Self growth is a more daunting task when you are unfit. Unfit people are less productive, less motivated, less energetic; they have lower levels of confidence and self esteem, they have worse cognitive performance, they have higher risk of disease. Fit people on the other hand have more productivity and motivation, more energy and confidence, their brains perform better and their risk of disease plummets. That's why fitness is where you should start. It makes the other steps to self growth so much easier.
For me and my wife, fitness opened the door to bettering our partnership, developing the traits that great parents have, increasing our knowledge, building our business, and so much more. Since both of us have started our fitness journeys, and took it seriously, we have grown exponentially as people, partners, parents, and entrepreneurs. And it all started with nailing our fitness habits.
This doesn't mean we live and breathe fitness. We both workout twice a week. 120 minutes total. We don't run marathons (or even run at all), ride bicycles, or do any other crazy cardio. We strength train and walk, that's it. Yet, this investment in time has given us major returns. We learned to work smarter, not harder. And you can do it, too.
